This We Believe

Over the course of the past few weeks, students have worked on composing personal essays in the style of "This, I Believe." Begun as a radio program in the 1940s by famed journalist Edward R. Murrow, "This I Believe" was relaunched as a radio program in the 2000s by NPR and is now a popular podcast. You can learn more about this program here. To prepare for their pieces, students brainstormed beliefs that they hold strongly as well as personal stories that connect to those beliefs. We then recorded these essays using an online program called Vocaroo. Each two to three-minute recording offers a snapshot of the inner life of each of our students.
